The annual harvest dinner at the Adel United Methodist Church drew a good number of faithful diners Sunday.

“Ham balls and all the fixins,” promised the banner for the Adel Methodist Church supper.

Just a short 20-mile drive south of Perry, the Adel United Methodist Church held its annual Harvest Dinner Sunday.

This annual event marks the week leading into Thanksgiving and signals the near end of the season for church suppers. Only the First Christian Church of Perry’s Shop with a Cop fundraiser remained.

The 75-minute Adel dinner offered hamballs, real mashed potatoes, green beans, cinnamon applesauce and a pumpkin bar dessert.

The harvest feast is held as a community social event, and funds raised are used for church activities.
