De Soto woman allegedly assaults De Soto man, deputy sheriffs

Katie Rae Lind, 43, of De Soto was arrested Saturday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, assault on persons in certain occupations and interference with official acts.

A De Soto woman struggled with the deputies who arrested her Saturday for allegedly assaulting a De Soto man in the home.

Katie Rae Lind, 43, of 304 Madison St., De Soto, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, assault on persons in certain occupations and interference with official acts.

The incident began about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Madison Street in De Soto, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Lind allegedly “took a patio chair and threw it at” the victim, “causing open wounds on his chin and arm,” according to court records.

The victim told the deputies that Lind allegedly “also punched the listed victim in the back of the head and attempted to strike him with a candle,” according to court records.

While in transit to the Dallas County Jail, Lind also tried to “kick out” the windows of a deputy’s patrol car and repeatedly kicked the deputy “in the hands and shin area after be advised numerous times to stop kicking,” according to court records.

Lind was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,500 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 9 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
