Sisters Laura Heath, left, of Grand Junction and Suzanne Kestel of Perry team up to decorate the Perry Public Library's entry into this year's Festival of Trees, which starts Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Carnegie Library Museum.

Decorating has begun for the annual Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Carnegie Library Museum and running from Saturday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Dec. 20.

Admission is free, and visitors will be able to vote with their free-will donations for their favorite tree. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Carnegie, which receives no programming funding from the city of Perry and stages its events on a shoestring budget.

The list of local tree decorators includes about 30 individuals, businesses and civic and religious groups.
