The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines has issued a dense fog advisory for the Perry area until 11 a.m. Thursday.
Visibility could drop to one-quarter mile or less over portions of central and south central Iowa.
Motorists are advised to slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of your vehicle.
Along with Dallas County, the dense fog advisory is in effect in Guthrie, Polk, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Marion, Adams, Union, Clarke, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Taylor, Ringgold, Decatur, Wayne, Appanoose and Davis counties.
The dense fog advisory applies to Perry and the cities of Guthrie Center, Panora, Bayard, Casey, Waukee, Adel, Des Moines, Atlantic, Greenfield, Stuart, Adair, Fontanelle, Winterset, Earlham, Indianola, Norwalk, Carlisle, Pella, Knoxville, Corning, Creston, Osceola, Chariton, Albia, Ottumwa, Bedford, Lenox, New Market, Mount Ayr, Lamoni, Leon, Corydon, Seymour, Allerton, Humeston, Centerville and Bloomfield.
