Jeffrey Wayne Hobbs, 37, of Des Moines was arrested Friday on charges of three counts of violation of a no-contact order.

A Des Moines man was arrested Friday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a December incident in which he allegedly violated a no-contact order in Perry when he argued with and threw water on a Perry woman in the presence of her children.

Jeffrey Wayne Hobbs, 37, of 4025 Briarcliff Dr., Des Moines, was charged with probation violation.

Hobbs was convicted of willful injury causing serious injury, domestic abuse assault-impeding blood/air flow and child endangerment in September 2023 in Dallas County District Court. He was sentenced to five years’ prison, but the sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for two years.

Hobbs was found guilty of a probation violation in November 2024 after failing to complete the court-ordered Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. The alleged three violation of a no-contact order occurred about 11 a.m. Dec. 26 at a residence in the 2900 block of First Avenue in Perry.

A warrant for Hobbs’ arrest was ordered Jan. 14 in Dallas County District Court and served Friday. Hobbs is held in the Dallas County Jail $1,500 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 31 in Dallas County District Court.
