A Des Moines man was arrested early Thursday at a West Des Moines motel after allegedly assaulting his wife.

According to court records, Hand and his wife “did get into an argument” at the Motel 6 at 7655 Office Plaza Dr. in West Des Moines, and Hand allegedly “broke his phone over his knee and then grabbed the victim and shoved her against the wall.”

The victim said Hand “shoved her against the wall and pulled her legs out from under her, causing her to fall.”

Hand said “he held her forcefully against the wall while screaming at her,” according to court records.

A West Des Moines Police Department Officer “observed red marks on the victim’s chest where the victim stated she was pushed and held,” according to court records.

Hand is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
