Des Moines woman allegedly breaks boyfriend’s step-mom’s arm

Tiara Dawn Stanek, 27, of Des Moines was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for assault causing serious injury.

A Des Moines women was arrested Tuesday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a June incident in which she allegedly broke her boyfriend’s step-mother’s arm in the course of a dispute over an open window.

Tiara Dawn Stanek, 27, of 3317 E. 15th St., Des Moines, was charged with assault causing serious injury.

The alleged assault occurred about 4:30 p.m. June 22 in the 27100 block of 270th Street in rural Dallas Center, where Stanek and the “victim got into a verbal exchange over a window not being shut in the victim’s house,” according to court records.

When Stanek “refused to allow the victim to close the window,” the victim “attempted to get around” Stanek, who allegedly “shoved the victim into a door and floor,” according to court records.

The victim “sustained a fractured arm that required surgery from being shoved to the ground,” according to court records.

Stanek was “dating the victim’s step-son,” according to court records, and “living on and off in the residence where the assault occurred.”

A warrant for Stanek’s arrest was ordered July 12 in Dallas County District Court and served July 13. Stanek is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled forĀ  preliminary hearing July 26 in Dallas County District Court.

Stanek was convicted of first-degree harassment in 2018 in Dallas County District Court.
