A Dexter man was arrested early Friday after allegedly assaulting a Dexter woman in the home in front of their child.
Gregory William Cupp, 37, of 1331 Davis St., Dexter, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and child endangerment.
The incident began about 1:15 a.m. Friday at a park-and-ride site along U.S. Interstate 80 near the 104 mile marker, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs made contact with Cupp, “who had visible injuries from an altercation earlier,” according to court records.
The deputy then made contact with the victim at a residence in the 1300 block of Davis Street in Dexter. The victim also “had minor injuries resulting from the altercation,” according to court records.
Cupp was “identified as the primary aggressor” in the fight, which “took place in front of their 9-year-old child,” according to court records.
Cupp is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 24 in Dallas County District Court.
Cupp was convicted of two counts of first-degree harassment in 2013 in Dallas County District Court.
