ADEL — ADM softball and girls basketball head coach Rick Dillinger has resigned both positions and accepted an assistant coaching spot for the Iowa Hawkeyes softball team.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Dillinger guided ADM to the Class 4A State Championship Game this season, where the Tigers fell to Des Moines Hoover. ADM was 35-8 overall.

The Tiger cagers were 9-14 last season. Like the softball team, the basketball squad will enter their next season having lost just one senior to graduation.

Dillinger will bring a wealth of softball coaching experience with him to Iowa City. He began coaching the sport in Danville in 1976, and led North Polk to state titles in 2000, 2006 and 2008 before joining ADM.

ADM Activities Director Reece Satre will begin the search to replace the two positions immediately.
