DMACC honors graduates, scholars for 2023 summer term

Eight Perry scholars were among nearly 700 students who graduated during the 2023 summer semester commencement at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Newton, Urban and West Campuses.

DMACC graduates from Perry were:

  • Eliza Cunningham, Liberal Arts
  • Wendy Escalante Tobar, Dental Assistant
  • Andrew Galindo, Construction Management
  • Cris Gomez, Dental Assistant
  • Dekyndra Holden, Nurse Aide
  • Lilian Naranjo, Liberal Arts
  • April Pou, Nurse Aide
  • Miguel Ramirez, Honda PACT

Scholars attaining the DMACC President’s List and DMACC Dean’s List for the 2023 summer term were also named this week. Nine Perry-area scholars were named to the summer 2023 president’s list. To qualify for the president’s list, a student must have earned a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 during the term. Achieving the summer president’s list were:

  • Lilly Riley, Liberal Arts, Dawson
  • Cris Gomez, Dental Assistant, Perry
  • Andy Gonzalez, Computer Information Systems, Perry
  • Rogelio Izquierdo, Criminal Justice, Perry
  • Melissa Kinney, Elementary Education Transfer, Perry
  • Felicia Moe, Elementary Education Transfer, Perry
  • Phyo Ei Ei Phyu, Business Transfer, Perry
  • Annika Von Walden, Liberal Arts, Perry
  • Joshua Watters, Engineering Transfer, Perry

Seven Perry scholars were named to the DMACC Dean’s List for the summer 2023. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a grade point average (GPA) between 3.5 and 3.99. Making the summer dean’s list were:

  • Layce Chicoine, Elementary Education Transfer
  • Emelie Cross, Elementary Education Transfer
  • Bryce Eastman, Accounting Specialist
  • Jayde McLarty, Associate General Studies
  • Filmawit Okubay, Associate General Studies
  • Cameron Onnen, Human Services
  • Coriander Woodall, Associate General Studies
