Local businesses looking to raise their digital marketing presence should consider employing a student in the VanKirk Academy Summer Internship program.

The summer internships offer students a chance to gain work-readiness training and be matched with a business or organization for a seven-week work experience to develop and complete projects to help the organizations increase their digital marketing presence.

The interns will work flexible 15-to-20-hour weekly schedules and be paid through a stipend for time spent completing projects and receiving training. The summer internship program begins June 29 and extends through Aug. 13.

Most of the internship will be completed virtually and at no cost to the business. Students will check in with business partners, and DMACC staff will coordinate project completions and facilitate support.

The student interns will benefit by earning money and college credit and developing connections to the Perry-area business community. Businesses and organizations also stand to gain valuable online exposure through the projects and state-level recognition through the governor’s Future Ready Iowa program.

For more information, contact DMACC Perry VanKirk Career Academy Director Eddie Diaz at ediaz@dmacc.edu or join one of the three informational Zoom meetings planned on the following dates:

1. Friday, June 12 at 2 p.m.
2. Monday, June 15 at 9 a.m.
3. Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m.
