Donna Donovan, 66, of Minburn passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her home in Minburn, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Granger. Visitation will be Thursday, March 9 from 1-7:30 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care, with family present from 5-7:30 p.m. and a Rosary service following.
Donna Jean Donovan was born July 16, 1956, in Riceville, Iowa, to Bernard Henry and Marita Theresa (Wempe) Buelt.
She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Breda, Iowa, with the class of 1974. She then went to the Upper Iowa University, graduating with a degree in accounting.
Donna was united in marriage to Daniel Joseph Donovan at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Breda on July 16, 1977.
She was the chief financial officer for the Iowa Soybean Association for 30 years.
Donna was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Granger.
She loved being with her grandson, going to the Lake of Ozarks and spending holidays with her family.
In death she rejoins her parents, Bernard and Marita Buelt; and a sister, Judith Gerken.
Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her husband, Daniel Joseph Donovan; children, Patrick Donovan of Des Moines, Adam Donovan of Minburn and Bridget (Nic) Busse of Des Moines; grandson, Jack Busse; siblings, Shirley (Marvin) Frigaard of St. Helen, Oregon, David (Erin) Buelt of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mark (Joanne) Buelt of Hillsborough, N.J.; brother-in-law, LeRoy Gerken of Columbia, Missouri; numerous nieces; nephews; and great-nieces; and great-nephews.
