The IGHSAU released the postseason pairings for Class 1A, 4A and 5A yesterday, and, on paper at least, the path for Perry appears much more promising than in past seasons. Perry will dodge any Raccoon River Conference competition in Region 7 and will open at home, July 7, against Greene County. The winner will travel to No. 9 Norwalk July 9 for the semifinal round. The Warriors had to rally for two runs in the sixth to clip the Jayettes, 3-2, May 27. Des Moines Hoover hosts Knoxville, with the winner heading to No. 6 DC-G, on the top half of the bracket. The Region 7 Final will be played July 12 at the highest remaining seed. All games start at 7 p.m.
