Doris Ann Ransom, 88, of Perry passed away peacefully under hospice care on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025.
In accordance with her wishes, she has been cremated, and there will be no formal services.
Doris was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Guy and Deloris Taylor.
She loved spending her time enjoying simple pleasures. She was an avid walker, often seen strolling to the park and later walking dogs for neighbors after her own pets had passed.
Doris also enjoyed staying active through regular visits to Lifetime Fitness and made it a habit to treat herself to lunch out every day.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Deloris Taylor; her brother, Jack Taylor; and her sister, Kendra Huseboe.
She is survived by her brother, Jim Taylor, and wife, Doris, of Florida; her sister, Sylvia Shimek, and husband, Bill, of Waterloo; as well as many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
Doris will be remembered for her gentle spirit, love of animals and dedication to family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
