A motorist suffered an apparent medical emergency about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 23700 block of D Avenue in Boone County.
The driver was traveling southbound on D Avenue less than one mile north of the Perry city limits when the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a shallow ditch on the west side of Iowa Highway 144.
The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders and Dallas County EMS responded to the incident just north of Perry. As the snow fell, emergency responders could be seen performing chest compressions in the cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the victim.
The driver was soon after transported to the Dallas County Hospital in an unknown condition.
