A pickup truck struck a tree in the gore area of the U.S. Highway 169 and Iowa Highway 141 interchange Sunday night when the driver attempted to elude law enforcement.
The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m., when a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff attempted to initiate a traffic stop of the pickup truck, which left the roadway and struck the tree on the east side of U.S. Highway 169 along the on ramp to eastbound Iowa Highway 141.
Dallas County EMS was paged to examine the driver.
