Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of services for Duane “Bud” Young, 91,
of Jefferson. Bud died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Greene County Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, with burial at Highland Township Cemetery in Churdan. Visitation will be Wednesday after 1 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
Duane is survived by children, Cherin (B0b) Lee of Cedar Falls, Cathy Nelson of Iowa City, Tom (Ilene) Young of Olathe, Kan., and Barb (Doug) Hobart of Grimes; step-children, Connie Semke of Jefferson, Dennis (Marg) Semke of Carroll, Terry (Kathy) Semke of Jefferson and Mike (Peggy) Semke of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat (Ken) Hastings of Jefferson.
Memorials may be made to the family for later distribution to causes close to Bud’s heart.
