Eagles knock Panthers from postseason

UNDERWOOD, IA — The volleyball season came to an end for Panorama Monday with a 3-0 loss to host Underwood in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.

The Eagles (14-19) were 25-6 victors in the first game and then claimed a 25-17 game two victory. A 25-11 win in game three completed the sweep. Panorama finishes the season 5-21 overall.

Faith Recker provided 10 assists, Madison Mincy one and Hallie Arganbright one. Cayden Iredale recorded six kills, with Zoey Hambleton, Keira Simons, and Jaidyn Sellers two apiece.

Hambleton had a team-high 11 digs and Jazmyn Sellers seven. Caitlin Sloss tallied five digs, Recker four and Tyme Boettcher and Elizabeth Snyder two.

Jaidyn Sellers finished with three assisted blocks, with Boettcher and Iredale having two each and Simons one.

Panorama served 27-of-34 (79 precent) with three assists. Hambleton was 9-10-2 and Jaidyn Sellers 5-7-1, with Boettcher 6-of-7, Sloss 5-of-5, Jazmyn Sellers 2-of-2, Mincy 0-for-1 and Recker 0-for-2.

Simons, Sloss, and Jazmyn Sellers all played their final games for the Panther netters in the loss.
