Earl Daniels of Perry will mark his 101st birthday Monday, Oct. 26 at the Perry Lutheran Homes, and he sure likes getting cards and letters:

Earl said that turning 101 is “better than 100,” which nobody can deny.
Earl was born and raised near Perry. After spending time in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to the area and farmed near Redfield. After retirement, he and his wife, Evelyn, moved to Perry, and he has lived here since then.
