An Earlham man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Tuesday in connection with an incident in April in which he allegedly used a fake Facebook profile to distribute nude photos of a Redfield woman without her consent.
Korey Lynn Cassady, 25, of 340 N.W. Third St., Earlham, was charged with two counts of first-degree harassment and one count of third-degree harassment.
The incident began March 16, when a woman living in Dallas County reported to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office “that a male had been sending nude photographs of her to other people without her consent,” according to court records.
An investigation by the sheriff’s office concluded that the photographs were allegedly sent from a fake Facebook account that was traced to the IP address of Cassady’s cell phone.
A warrant for Cassady’s arrest was ordered April 23 in Dallas County District Court and served Tuesday. Cassady is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 16 in Dallas County District Court.
