Edwin Cary Jeffress was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Vinton, Iowa, to Bonnie Jean (Dissinger) Jeffress and Joseph Henry Jeffress.

Ed went to school in Bouton from kindergarten until fourth grade. He finished his schooling in Perry.

During his high school years, Ed worked for Russel Miers. After high school, he worked at several jobs, including Mountain Bell in Denver, EDS, Woodward Telephone Co. and Wells Fargo.

Ed was preceded in death by his grandparents, Velma and Ira Dissinger and Joe Jeffress; and his “adopted” father, Baldy Rose.

Ed is survived by his mother, Bonnie Dunnihoo; wife, Lynn (Saver); daughter, Kari Lynn Jeffress; sons, Joel Jeffress and Travis Meester; three grandsons, Zake (Lexie and future great-grandchild), Joey and Keifer; granddaughter, Shiloh; sister, Shannon (David) Gabbert; nieces, Amanda Gabbert and Kendra (Andrew) Steward; and his great-grandnephew, Luke Steward.

Ed loved fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, bicycling, anything involving the outdoors. His favorite thing was taking his family on outdoor adventures.
