URBANDALE — Class 2A No. 8 Woodward-Granger continued their masterful march through the season with a 10-0 whipping of Des Moines Christian in six innings of WCAC baseball Monday.

W-G (15-0, 8-0) received six scoreless innings from senior Spencer Hanson, who scattered five hits while striking out five. He has been the workhorse in the rotation, tossing 28-1/3 innings. Hanson has fanned 34 batters and walked just seven, with Monday’s six scoreless innings dropping his ERA to 1.73.

Lead-off hitter Brady Aunspach was 4-for-4 with a double to fuel the Hawks. Reese Jamison had a single, a double and two RBIs, with Cole Theisen providing a double.

Bryce Achenbach scored twice and Matt Rhodes had three RBIs to highlight the offense for the visitors.

W-G  hosts Earlham tonight and will then play host Panorama in a WCAC varsity doubleheader Thursday, with the first game to begin at 5 p.m.
