Mark and Karen Einck of Perry recently made a contribution of $25,000 to the Dewey Field Renovation Project on behalf of the Einck family,.
Donors making contributions of $25,000 secure an End Zone Legacy, while gifts of $10,000 qualify as Golden Goal Sponsors and those of $5,000 as Finish Line Sponsors. Gifts of $1,000 secure Yard Line Sponsor status.
The quest to reach “1,000 Bluejays” continues, said PCSD Superintendent Clark Wicks. To join the group, contributors pledge $250, which amounts to $21 monthly or 68 cents daily. Those who become one of the “1,000 Bluejays” will received a brick on the new Bluejay Way, Wicks said.
All donors will receive special recognition on the Bluejay Donor Wall.
Construction continues on phase one of the four-part project. A new entry way, concession stand, ticket booths, storage area and restrooms are currently being built.
New handicap-accessible bleachers on the north side, for home fans, will be installed in the coming weeks, with a new press box also built on the north side.
All phase-one work will be completed in time for Perry’s football home opener, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 24, when the Bluejays will entertain Greene County in the 87th playing of the Cowbell Game.
Contributions to the Dewey Field Project can be mailed to the Perry Community School District, P.O. Box 69, Perry, IA 50220-0069.
