Emery “Hank” Hensen, 95, of Perry passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held Friday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5 from 2-7 p.m.. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the Woodward Cemetery in Woodward with military honors.

Emery “Hank” Edward Hensen was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Bouton, Iowa, to William and Mamie Marie (Lange) Hensen.

He graduated from the Bouton schools.

Hank was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Groth at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone April 24, 1942.

He worked at Firestone Tire, farmed and Meadow Gold Ice Cream.

He was a member of the Perry Bible Church.

Hank enjoyed fishing, cooking and hunting.

In death he rejoins his wife, Dorothy Hensen; parents, William and Mamie Hensen; sister, Harriet Lamb; and a brother, Ernest “Spitz” Hensen.

Left to cherish Hank’s memory are his daughters, Sharon (Larry) Bollman of Bloomfield and Shirley (Orville) Folden of Perry; grandchildren, Don and Steve Miller, Marti Ryan, Peg Hartmann and Sherry Dillavou; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Hillary, Kristy, Cory and Sean Miller, Loring and Bergen Hartmann, Ava, Zeven and Isaiah Garcia, and Star Angel Dillavou a great-great-grandchild, Eva Higgenbotham; and a brother, Louie (Doris) Hensen of Perry.
