Emmert played many popular songs from the early 1800s to the 1960s, including a boogie woogie version of the gospel standard, “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder.”

The musical entertainment was followed by a hearty meal from the MCB kitchen. All community members aged 50 and above are welcome at the weekly fellowship meals, which resume in September.

Marilyn Pentico, coordinator of the Wednesday Fellowship programs, announced the next Ladies Day Out luncheon will be Tuesday, May 7 at noon at the First United Methodist Church at Third and Willis in Perry. All women around Perry are invited to attend and enjoy the Maurice Jules program, “Music is the Voice of the Soul.”
