Public safety agencies gathered in the 2100 block of Sycamore Street Sunday afternoon to investigate an incident initially reported as a stabbing but about which law enforcement is currently not releasing any information.

GRANGER, Iowa — A caller from Nebraska reported a stabbing about 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the Assumption Catholic Church at 1906 Sycamore St. in Granger.

The victim of the alleged stabbing apparently first reported the attack to the person in Nebraska, who in turn relayed the information to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office, which responded to the report.

The Granger Police Department also responded, and the Granger EMS staged nearby, awaiting the go-ahead from law enforcement.

The victim was located at a private residence in the 2100 block of Sycamore Street.

It is unknown at this hour whether a suspect was taken into custody or the extent of the victim’s injuries, if any.
