Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of services for Ernest L. Krieger, 82, of Jefferson. Ernie died Saturday at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.
Ernie was the owner and operator of Krieger Greenhouse and Floral Shop in Jefferson for 56 years and Krieger Greenhouse in Boone for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Grace; children, Kurt (Carmen) Krieger of Jefferson, Ross (Laura) Krieger of Boone, Suzanne (Russell) Krieger-Mjolsness of Nevada and Andy (Cathy) Krieger of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brother, Herb (Karen) Krieger of Prior Lake, Minn.; and sister, Marjorie Mueller of Washington state.
Visitation for Ernie will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Krieger residence, 1608 Westwood Dr. in Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, with burial in the Jefferson Cemetery with full military honors.
Krieger’s Flower Shop will be open Monday through Thursday in honor of Ernie’s dedication to Krieger’s Flower Shop and Krieger Greenhouses. The businesses will be closed Friday for his funeral service. For more information, call 515-465-4691.
