Funeral services for Ernest Niels Nielsen, 98, of Perry will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, with visitation starting one hour prior to the service.
Ernest Niels Nielsen, son of Hans Nielsen and Karen Tvenstrup Nielsen, was born Jan. 15, 1921, on a farm in Kimballton, Iowa, and died Oct. 1, 2019, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa, at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Ernest attended rural Kimballton Schools growing up.
He lived in Dedham for years.
Ernest was a farmer and worked various places, including Dawson.
Ernest was preceded in death by his father, Hans Nielsen, who lived to be 98 years old; his mother, Karen Tvenstrup Nielsen, who lived to be 108 years old; and his twin brother, Emmert Folmer Nielsen.
He is survived by his niece Mary Jo May and her husband Brad of Atlantic, Iowa; longtime friend Lyle Parsons of Perry, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements.
