GUTHRIE CENTER — The margin of victory for AC/GC Tuesday was three runs, exactly the number of unearned runs visiting W-G yielded in suffering a 7-4 WCAC softball setback.

W-G (5-11, 3-9) led, 1-0, after their second at-bat, but AC/GC (4-8, 3-5) sent five runners across the dish in their second turn on offense to snatch a lead. The Hawks plated single tallies in the fourth, fifth and seventh, with two Chargers scoring in the fourth to account for the remainder of the scoring.

Ava Petersen was the tough-luck loser in the ring. She surrendered seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while recording seven strikeouts.

Katelyn Bandstra had two hits for the guests, with Emma Anderson, Audrey Simmons, Rian Jamison, Bella McDivitt and Petersen adding hits as well. Simmons and Jamison had two RBIs apiece, with Anderson scoring twice while Chloe Houge and Cela Hill also crossed the dish.

Saige O’Brien allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks to collect the win. She struck out one.

Olivia Van Meter had two doubles, EmmaKay McClain a single and a double and Tori Fuller a double to spark the Chargers.

W-G is at Bondurant-Farrar tonight and will host Perry Thursday.
