Perry's Alyssa Kruger provided a successful sacrifice in the fourth inning at Boone June 1. Kruger had a double and a home run in Perry's extra-inning win at ADM Wednesday.

ADEL — Alyssa Kruger led off the top of the eighth inning with a solo home run, with Adriana Eastman launching a two-run shot with two outs in the frame as Perry completed a season-sweep of ADM in Raccoon River Conference softball Wednesday.

Seventh-ranked Perry (15-4, 5-3) led, 1-0, after two innings, but three runs in the fourth and another in the fourth pushed No. 11 ADM (11-10, 3-5) in front, 4-1.

The Jayettes responded with two runs in the sixth, then forced extra innings with a tally in the seventh.

Kruger’s first home run of the season put an excited Perry squad in front to start extra innings. Emma Olejniczak drew a one-out walk and stood on second base with two outs after a successful steal when Eastman blasted her first dinger of the campaign to open a 7-4 advantage.

ADM scored once in the bottom of the inning, but could not force the game to continue.

Each player in the Perry lineup had a hit, with Kruger adding a double to her four-bagger.

Five runs scored off Olejniczak, but, like 24 of the 42 she has allowed in 109 total innings this season, all were unearned. The senior ace (13-4) lowered her ERA to 1.16 by allowing six hits and only two walks while striking out 13 in eight innings on the rubber.

Olejniczak will be honored before tonight’s non-conference game with visiting Saydel for reaching the 1,000 career strikeout mark last week against Ballard. The game is also “Strike Out Cancer” night at the PAC, with fans encouraged to wear pink in support of the fight against cancer.

Perry will be action twice Friday and twice again Saturday at the Roland-Story Kiwanis Tournament in Roland. The Jayettes face North Polk on the North Field at 1 p.m. Friday before moving to the South Field to battle South Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. Perry is on the South Field Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Gilbert, with an 8 p.m. meeting with host Roland-Story to be played on the North Field.
