In order to show their support for local law enforcement, the Dallas County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial Services have begun a Back the Blue campaign, providing free blue light bulbs to Dallas County residents and encouraging home owners to replace their traditional porch lights or front door lights with the blue bulbs.
“We want to show support for the men and women who protect and serve the residents of Dallas County and all over the nation,” Dallas County Farm Bureau President Tanner Rowe said Wednesday.
Local residents can join the Back the Blue cause by stopping by any one of the following three locations and picking up their free bulb:
- Dallas County Farm Bureau Office, 112 Nile Kinnick Dr. S. in Adel
- Farm Bureau Financial Services, 154 SE Laurel St., Waukee
- Farm Bureau Financial Services, 1009 Willis Ave., Perry
“With the recent tragedy here in Iowa, we wanted to do something positive,” Rowe said. “We wanted to show that we need to stand together during tough times and we appreciate our local law enforcement officers.”
