A controlled burn in the 23600 block of Idaho Place, northwest of the intersection of Iowa Highway 44 and County Road P58, escaped control Thursday afternoon and swept through a freshly harvested field before firefighters arrived and regained control.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and Adel Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze and promptly extinguished the burning field stubble.
The property belongs to Linda K. Mitchell, according to county records.
