The Perry Volunteer Fire Department battled a blaze in a rural outbuilding Wednesday night, controlling the fire before it destroyed the structure or ignited the LP storage tank nearby.

There were no injuries in the fire, which was reported about 9 p.m. at 20652 150th St. in rural Perry on property owned by Rocy Roy Kirk and Danielle Kirk, according to county records.

Preliminary investigation pointed to a diesel fuel furnace as the source of the fire, according to Perry Volunteer Fire Department Fire Assistant Fire Chief Brian Eiteman.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
