Fire destroys camper in rural Perry on stormy Tuesday night

A camper caught fire in rural Perry Tuesday night amid the thunder, lightning and high winds of a severe weather watch.

No injuries were reported in the blaze at 21001 130th St., which fully engulfed the vehicle.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this hour.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire on the property, owned by Steven and Karla Ewing, according to county records.

The Perry Police Department also responded.
