Fire destroyed a garage behind a residence on Willis Avenue near 16th Street early Wednesday.
At least one person was injured and transported to the Dallas County Hospital by Dallas County EMS, and an air ambulance has been paged, according to public safety radio traffic.
The fire was reported about 5 a.m. at 2512 Willis Ave. at the rear of the property.
The blocks lacks an alleyway, so the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and attacked the blaze from Willis Avenue.
Mutual aid was provided by the Bouton Volunteer Fire Department and Woodward Volunteer Fire Department. The Perry Police Department also responded.
The property is owned by Cam 2022 LLC of Berwisk, Iowa, according to county records.
Rich Nichols, information technology director for the Perry Community School District, said the fire interrupted the internet connection for all the schools and administration center. He said he was unsure when internet serviceĀ would be restored.
