Fire destroyed a 140-year-old house on the Greene County line north of Dawson Monday shortly after 5 p.m.
There were no reported injuries in the blaze. It is unknown at this hour whether the building was occupied. The cause is under investigation.
The 1,100-square-foot house, dating from 1880, was fully engulfed when firefighters from the Dawson and Perry stations of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 13838 120th St.
The 36-acre property is owned by Lila Glee Le Friemel of Perry, according to county records.
The Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
