Gusty northwest winds fed the fire Saturday afternoon that rapidly consumed the home of Rhea Wright at 391 335th St. in rural Perry. The cause of the fire is unknown at this hour.

The occupants of the house escaped the blaze, and one was transported to Dallas County Hospital with minor injuries, according to Dallas County EMS.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Boone County Sheriff’s office responded to the incident.

Tanker trucks from the two firefighting teams filled a temporary reservoir, from which the firefighters then drew in directing the high-pressure hoses on the blaze.
