Fire Museum’s softball fundraiser to help family of Kamdyn Hike

The daylong Iowa Fire Museum's annual softball tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pattee Park ball fields in Perry. All proceeds from this year's fundraiser will assist the family of Kamdyn Hike with medical expenses.

The Iowa Fire Museum and Fire Prevention Education Center opened July 11, 2015, at 1120 Second St. in Perry. The museum includes materials from the Perry fire department’s history and from across Iowa.

The daylong Iowa Fire Museum’s annual softball tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pattee Park ball fields in Perry.

All proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will assist the family of Kamdyn Hike with medical expenses. Twelve-year-old Kamdyn Briydinn Hike of Perry died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after an acute asthma attack.

Iowa Fire Museum supporters will offer a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs and btas, chips and a drink for $4, and raffle tickets for some great gear will be sold for $1 or six for $5.
