Firefighters battle Bouton house fire Friday night

BOUTON, Iowa — Firefighters from three agencies are battling a blaze at this hour in a Bouton house.

All the occupants escaped the fire in the house near the corner of Martin and Luther streets, which was reported about 9:15 p.m.

There is concern that pets might still be inside the structure, according to public safety radio traffic.

The cause of the fire in the three-bedroom house, built in 1999, is unknown at this hour. The property at 211 Martin St. is owned by Harris Rentals LLC of Bouton, according to county records.

The Bouton Volunteer Fire Department responded and received mutual aid from the Minburn Volunteer Fire Department and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
