The volunteer fire departments from Bouton and Woodward responded to a report of a brush fire in the Bouton City Park about 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

Bouton firefighters arrived first on the scene and began hosing down the large community yard-waste pile at the corner of W. Third and Jefferson streets, near the town’s ball fields.

A tanker truck from the Woodward Volunteer Fire Department arrived shortly after, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office was also reportedly responding.

There were no injuries in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
