Two of Perry's most devoted boosters, Perry Chamber of Commerce Treasurer Susie Moorhead, left, and longtime Chamber member Doug Wood accepted donations Thursday morning for the Chamber's annual Fourth of July Fireworks spectacle at Pattee Park.

Raising funds Thursday morning for July’s fireworks festivities were Jeff Wilson of Perry, left, whose vigor belies the 66th anniversary of his birth that he celebrated Wednesday, and Stephen Flattery, assistant general manager and sales manager at the Raccoon Valley Radio.

Volunteers in the Perry Chamber of Commerce’s annual fireworks fundraiser took to the field Thursday morning in support of the holiday spectacle.

“There’s lots of ways to donate to the Fourth of July fireworks drive,” said Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson.

Thursday’s donation points include the Hy-Vee parking lot from 5-8 a.m., the Hotel Pattee crosswalk from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m and in front of Fareway from 4-6 p.m.

An at-the-cash-register round up at both Fareway and Hy-Vee will run from April 13 to April 22.

Pie auctions at Tuesday’s Chamber of Commerce banquet and Thursday’s on-air auction on the Raccoon Valley Radio were also available.

Donors can also mail their donations to the Perry Chamber of Commerce at 1102 Willis Avenue. All money raised goes towards the Fourth of July fireworks show in Pattee Park.
