Five Bluejays collect All-RRC honors

Five Perry players have earned All-Raccoon River Conference honors.

Seniors Kyle Nevitt and Janier Puente have been named to the All-Raccoon River Conference baseball First Team, with three other Bluejays also earning All-RRC nods.

Nevitt, chosen as a utility player, hit .372 with 16 hits and 14 RBIs. He had two doubles, a grand slam and scored 10 runs. He was 2-2 with a 4.79 ERA in 19 innings on the mound, issuing 15 walks and striking out 24 while allowing opponents to hit just .174.

Puente posted a .419 average and drove in 13 runs on 18 hits. He had a home run and four doubles and scored 15 runs.

Senior Adan Medina (utility) and sophomore Kaleb Olejniczak (outfield) were both chosen for the Second Team.

Medina hit .325 with three doubles, a triple and a home run among his 13 hits. He scored nine times and drove in nine runs. He saw six innings of work on the hill, posting a 3.50 ERA, walking three, fanning two and allowing only a .103 average to opposing batters.

Olejniczak hit .405 from his spot atop the lineup. He had a triple among 17 hits, driving in eight runs and scoring 15 times.

Junior Brandon Kenyon was selected for Honorable Mention status. He batted .261 with three doubles and eight singles, scoring six times and driving in 11. Kenyon was successful on all eight of his stolen base attempts.

Perry finished 7-21 overall and 5-9 in RRC play. All statistics are from conference play only, as players are chosen solely on that basis.
