CEDAR FALLS — The Panorama girls track team sent a quintet Monday to the Dickinson Indoor Meet at the UNI-Dome.

“This was a solid start to the season,” head coach Greg Thompson said. “These five girls are ahead of where they were last year at the first indoor meet. I am excited to see how they build off this meet.”

The quartet of Olivia and Gwen Steffen, Payton Beckman and Lydia Lindstrom teamed to run the 4×800 in 10 minutes, 35.92 seconds, placing 12th overall.

Abbi Brown ran the 60 meter dash in 8.72 seconds and Lindstrom in 8.73, with Beckman running the 200 in 30.41 and Brown — who stumbled — in 31.12.

Gwen Steffen finished the 400 in 1:03.87, Olivia Steffen in 1:04.22 and Lindstrom in 1:05.49, placing the trio 13th, 17th and 23rd overall.

Panorama scored 38 points to finish one point behind Aplington-Parkersburg and in third place at the 2019 Class 2A Girls State Track Meet. They scored 40 points in placing third in 2018 as well. The Panthers qualified in 14 events in 2019 after competing in 15 in 2018.
