Dave and Donna Jean Cronk of Woodward have been making beautiful arrangements since 2005 in their store at 215 Main St. called Flowers by Donna Jean.

Donna Jean Cronk, left, offers a wide selection of fresh and silk flowers and a dizzying variety of unique gifts and holiday decor in her store, Flowers by Donna Jean, at 215 Main St. in Woodward.

If you need a last-minute gift or some holiday greenery for an empty corner, then you will find Woodward’s unique flower shop and gift store, Flowers by Donna Jean, filled with one-of-a-kind gifts and antiques, plus poinsettias, evergreens and Christmas centerpieces of distinction.

The shop at 215 Main St. is open until Christmas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — “but we may be here longer,” said owner Donna Jean Cronk.

Cronk has been selling flowers — both fresh and silk, plus blooming and green plants, balloons, willow tree angels, antiques and collectables, garden art and the handiworks of several local artists — in Woodward since 1990 and from her present location since 2005.

There are many tasteful gifts to be found at Flowers by Donna Jean.

The Main Street building dates from the late 1800s, and Cronk and her husband, Dave Cronk, have lovingly restored the original hardwood flooring and the turn-of-the-century tin-stamped ceilings. Originally built as two stores, the building has variously served over the years as a pharmacy, clothing store, post office and even a Red Cross station during World War II.

“Just like me, the store has been through many different stages throughout the years, blending the new with the classic,” Donna Jean said with a laugh.

The story of her and Dave is equally colorful. Dave Cronk was for many years the funeral director at the Brandt Funeral Home, as it was known in its last incarnation, having been the Hooker, Timeon and Murdock-Timeon funeral homes over the years.

Donna Jean started selling flowers out of part of the large Brandt home in 1990, and soon she and Dave hit it off over dinner and became friends. The rest has been a bed of roses, and the couple opened their Main Street store in 2005.

From paintings and jewelry to furniture and flowers, Donna Jean’s is a cozy place to find your next present or personalized flower arrangement.

Customers at Flowers by Donna Jean are sure to find the right gift from the wide selection of fresh and silk flowers and dizzying variety of unique gifts and holiday decor in the store at 215 Main St. in Woodward.
