Former Perry man arrested on four counts of forcible rape

The trial of Eric Chandler Parmenter, 29, of Ankeny and formerly of Perry began Monday on four counts of third-degree sexual abuse-forcible rape. The judge dismissed two of the counts on a motion by the Dallas County Attorney's office.

A former Perry man was arrested Friday afternoon by officers of the Perry Police Department on a charge of four counts of third-degree sexual abuse-forcible rape.

Eric Chandler Parmenter, 28, of Ankeny was booked into the Dallas County Jail about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Parmenter was held on $10,000 bond. He was released Saturday.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 27.
