Four Bluejays earn all-conference honors

The Perry baseball team had three juniors and a freshmen earn All-Raccoon River Conference recognition this season.

Janier Puente was named to the First Team at a utility spot. Puente scored 10 times and had 18 hits — including five doubles, two triples and two home runs — in conference games. He drove in 18 runs, batted .429 and produced a slugging percentage of .786, sixth-best among those with at least 30 at-bats in RRC play.

Fellow juniors Kyle Nevitt (outfield) and Adan Medina (infield) were chosen for the Second Team. Nevitt had six doubles and 10 RBIs on his 17 hits and scored 10 times while batting .447 with Medina producing 14 singles and two doubles while hitting .444, driving in eight runs and scoring eight times. He was 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts.

Freshman Kaleb Olejniczak secured an Honorable Mention slot. He finished with 13 hits, three RBIs and 10 runs while batting .371 and was 7-for-7 swiping bases.

Perry finished 11-20 overall and 5-9 in RRC play.
