Free breakfasts, lunches start June 6 courtesy of Uncle Sam

The free USDA Summer Food Service Program hasbeen extended through Dec. 31, 2020, or until the funding runs out.

The federally subsidized Summer Food Service Program starts Monday, June 6 at the Perry High School and Perry Elementary School cafeterias.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all children 18 and under regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. The free meals provided through the Summer Food Service program are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at Perry Elementary School through Aug. 5 and lunch at the Perry High School through July 1.

Perry Elementary School serving times:

  • Breakfast – 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday
  • Lunch – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Perry High School serving times:

  • Lunch only – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Weekly menus for the Summer Food Service Program will be posted on the PCSD website under “Lunch Menus” and right here on ThePerryNews.com.

Adults are encouraged to accompany their children and may purchase breakfast for $1.75 and lunch for $3.

The U.S. government has been providing these free meals to the Perry Community for 16 years. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
