Freedom Winds blow red, white and blue at PAC Sunday

Freedom Winds, a septet drawn from the ranks of the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America, part of the the Air Mobility Command stationed at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis, Mo., performed Sunday afternoon in the Perry Performing Arts Center as part of the Perry Fine Arts concert series.

The musical virtuosity of the ensemble appeared to delight the 75 people in attendance, who applauded the players with gusto.

The U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America appeared through the courtesy of Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II, commander of the Air Mobility Command. They were introduced by noted Perry musician Dr. Randy McCaulley.

The next concert in the Perry Fine Arts series will feature the Bus Boys, an acoustic folk trio from Winona, Minn., Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center.

Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and open to the public. Free-will donations are accepted. The Perry Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
