A candlelight vigil for Melanie Gonzalez is planned for 8 p.m. Friday, May 28 at the Perry High School.
Melanie, an 18-year-old senior at Perry High School, died by drowning Saturday, May 22, 2021, in Grimes, Iowa.
“Feel free to bring candles, flowers, a bear, etc.,” the Facebook event announcement said. “This a community event so anybody is welcome! Candles will not be provided, so please bring a candle!”
