Construction Materials Testing Co. took soil samples near the Frog Creek bridge on Willis Avenue in September 2015.

One week after the Contec culvert that replaced the 100-year-old Frog Creek Bridge on Willis Avenue between W. Fourth and W. Fifth streets was paved with concrete, the roadway is now open to through traffic.

A worker with Adair-based Caliber Concrete said the curbs, concrete walkways and pedestrian railings on each side of the bridge remain to be built.

Planning on the $753,000 project began in 2015.
